r there any cases of dispute between a state govt and the federal/central govt in USA?

similarities and differences in system of govt in india and USA
here are a few points i found myself. r they correct?
USA states have their own constitution
all states have equal powers
people have state citizenship too along with national citizenship
states r more powerful than federal govt
people r taxed by both state and federal govt
1. Yes, there are a bunch. One example: Marijuana is illegal in the U.S. according to the federal government; however, medicinal marijuana is legal in California…also regarding education (see second link below)–esp. No Child Left Behind; the Family and Medical Leave laws (see 3rd link below)
2. Yes, in that because of it we have the Constitution. It also helps regulate laws, businesses, and industries. It is ineffective in that, since there are separate laws for states, there is some confusion about what is actually lawful.
3. Similar in that civil laws are set down in Parliamentary legislation. Like America, there’s a judicial and an executive branch. However, in India, there is more of a fusion of powers between the two branches

United States taxation includes local government, possibly including one or more of municipal, township, district and county governments. It also includes regional entities such as school and utility, and transit districts as well as including state and federal government.
